June 11th, 6-8 p.m.

“Our speaker will be discussing tips for growing great peppers, tomatoes and herbs for both spring and fall gardens. We will have a salsa tasting and a tomato contest (bring your best home-grown tomatoes to enter for prizes). Mexican food small bites will be served along with some Salsa dancing and great music to get you moving! Local business Bob’s Taco Station will be supplying their amazing salsa, and we’re bringing in a margarita machine to cool your taste buds!”

June 25th, 6-8 p.m.

“The great folks at Agrilife Extension are bringing in Gulf Coast Viticulture Specialist, Fran Pontasch, to discuss the differences between wine grapes, table grapes, and muscadine grapes. This seminar will be in the format of three 30-minute sessions. Each session will discuss just how to grow and use each specific kind of grape, and will be paired with a complimentary wine tasting for you to enjoy while learning. The new Messina Hof Winery (coming soon!) in Harvest Green will be supplying the wine for the evening, and we can’t wait to sample them all!”

July 16th, 6-8 p.m.

“This seminar is in honor of Mustard Seed and the #milkweedmovement - we will cover everything you need to know about Monarchs, butterfly gardening and growing milkweed. Director of the Cockrell Butterfly Center, Erin Mills, will be our guest speaker and bingo caller. This seminar will be in the form of a Butterfly Bingo game for prizes, while featuring lots of great factual information. We will also be serving beer 'flights' from a local brewery.”

August 6th, 6-8 p.m.

“This seminar will be in the style of a casual farm-to-table small-bites dinner. There will be five 'courses' led by Tim Hartmann, Earth-Kind Landscape Program Specialist, discussing how to grow your own olive tree, figs, citrus, pears and berries. Each course will be paired with an appetizer tasting menu featuring the fruit being discussed. Come hungry for tasty food and knowledge.”

This event is sponsored by Fort Bend AgriLife Extension Service, Enchanted Gardens, MicroLife Fertilizer and The Fort Bend Master Gardeners.
